- The Port of San Diego manages the harbor and public lands along San Diego Bay. The Port was created in 1963 as a public benefit corporation by the State of California and contributes approximately $10.6 billion in annual economic benefit to the region. The Port operates two marine cargo terminals handling container, break-bulk, and bulk cargoes and two cruise terminals. DOD has designated the Port as a Strategic Port.
